It was a day when I, my wife and daughter woke up around 5:00 am, I can’t forget 20th Dec 2018 We had a guest that day. Waking up at that time was not strange, it is my regular office time. My in-laws with sister-in-law and along with them my father-in-law’s brother-in-law and his family had come (His brother, mother and wife). The reason of their visits was to complete a prayer for Bhavani and it was due pending. Bhavani’s temple situated in Tuljapur city in Solapur district. In the family of my father-in-law’s brother and his family was going through many obstacles, all was going wrong in person to person and they were feeling it as it is happening because of a pending visit to Tuljapur (Mata Bhavani’s temple).
Two families had started their travel without even reserved tickets and reached our house at 1:30 pm afternoon. They thought that in the Christmas holidays, they will travel and finish their visit to Tuljapur. Next day they all visited the few places in Pune and on 22nd Dec morning, all was set to go. They had also made a plan how to reach, timing and even return date was decided. We already refused to go since our baby girl and heavy cold.
Tuljapur is a famous temple and popular among the Maharashtrian. Many devotees visit the temple every year, few of them wish to Bhavani and in return, they ask a favour from Devi (Bhavani). They believed that his brother saved by Bhavani from a brutal accident and due to pending visit.
The time was slipping from the hand, we all already had woken up late that day and all the seven people have to grab a morning local train from Dehu road station and get another train from Pune station. There was no reserved ticket this time too, all of them sat in the local train from Dehu road station. While ascending one of the kid’s slippers from their group fell down due to the crowd as it was peak time and working day. A leader from that group had money and he had kept it in the back pocket of his jeans.
Next station, Akurdi came and leader Gajana heard someone’s cry
“Someone has stolen my mobile phone.”
Gajana too checked his pocket and there was nothing. The train had slowed down the speed. Due to the huge crowd started ascending and descending, one member from the group left there on the Akurdi station. Someone had to wave the hand at him to stop there and wait until someone receives him.
Gajana called my wife, we were returning our home taking a breath of relief. Suddenly my wife shocked and she said,
“Get down all of you, I go to Akurdi and receive my father.”
She cut the phone and urged me to leave our baby at neighbour’s door. We reached Akurdi and found her father in two minutes all of them met each-other. Due to one wallet, all the things had stopped right there, my wife took them home and served them breakfast. It was around 11:10 am.
I thought it is necessary to share this experience as someone else if travel in the local train of India, please make sure keep your belonging safe from thieves. Gajana’s wallet had a cheque worth 25k, 2.5k hard cash and two Debit cards. All the money had stolen and no other person had cash so that they could reach the temple. They stayed two more days at our home and return back to their city.
